Early morning just as the sun starts to blast the field with its light – painted from memory.
The time when I paused at the gate and gazed into this beautiful field, whilst experiencing the Cornish heatwave in 2022.
At the time of the year when it is full of crops and the edges surrounded with wild flowers and plants. I notice more fields leaving strips around the sides to encourage the insect population and wildlife – good decision!
I wanted to bring out more colour in this painting to express the vibrance of the moment, more of an expression than impression.
