Once again I return to this place in the salt marshes in the Ile de Re in France. It is a dried out salt marsh that has so many interesting tones, shapes and colours displayed in an already abstract fashion.
This painting although done en plein air is one which has naturally moved into the realms of abstraction because of the already formed slabs of shapes and colours laid out in front of me. It is a constant source of interest for me.
The painting also conveys the particular character and overall warm colour of the area in summer.
