You can’t help but notice the Carn Brea Monument from wherever you are in the Camborne / Redruth area of Cornwall.
Standing 90ft high on the hill of Carn Brea, the monument, otherwise known as the Bassett Monument, taps into the Celtic history associated with the area.
The Carn Brea Monument always catches my eye when on one of the roads below. From this lower angle, I have always found it an impressive sight, usually with dramatic clouds behind it.
With the Carn Brea Stone photographic print, I hoped to replicate the drama I have seen so many times before. Whilst looking around the hillside, I came across this fascinating piece of Cornish stone, and crouching down low, I was able to mimic the monuments height, as well as retain the cloudy drama I was looking for.
