A local hilltop favoured by dog walkers like myself. I can never visit without needing to take a few reference photos for future use.
It’s a small man made area created from past China Clay mining, but has wonderful 360 degree views. It can feel quite wild on misty winter days, but this paining was inspired by a super hot day in the heatwave of 2022.
I wanted to use primarily yellow and orange on the land to depict the heat, and purple skies to represent brooding summer thunderstorms, which weren’t so far away!
