This imagined abstract coastal is inspired by my love of the rocky coves and cliffs of North Cornwall. It has lots of lovely texture, created by many layers of paint and expressive brush marks.
I was compelled to use a bold expressive swipe of aqua to finish the ‘sky’ element as this is a predominant sea colour along the coast and I am always drawn to use it in different ways.
Interestingly, this picture looks great hung any way up you like! It retains it’s coastal feel either way and has a figurative element when hung in two of the orientations!
