Yvonne Burdekin
Growing up in NewZealand Yvonne Burdekin has been interested in art all of her life but didn’t take it up seriously until she moved to Cornwall in 2000, happy to be surrounded by the sea and the beauty of the countryside.
Being self-taught she enjoys experimenting with lots of media, oils, acrylics mixed media and particularly pastel the medium she is mostly known for. Pastels are her inspiration, she loves the immediacy and expressiveness of them and the direct touch of the medium, blending with hands and fingers although a bit messy is a delight.
She now lives on the Lizard Peninsula where the ever-changing sea and sky are her inspiration. For the past six years she has been exhibiting with several local art societies and her work has been sold to private collectors in Canada, Sweden and Germany as well as throughout the U.K.
