Roy’s paintings are acrylic with occasional bits of collage, charcoal and pencil. They are usually abstract, but some works are more representational, and colour comes high up the list of importance.
Roy has painted seriously and continuously since he was a boy, but enjoyed a career as a research scientist. Roy has been selling in Cornwall and abroad for over 20 years – for the last 2 years his work has been selected for the Royal Academy of South West England Open (Bristol) .
His paintings were exhibited in the Royal Glasgow Institute Open Show. Roy appeared as a contestant in Sky Portrait Artist and has been short-listed for the second stage of the prestigious John Moores Prize.
