Kirsten Elswood
Kirsten was born in Clifton in 1967, and has spent much of her life steeped in the topography of the South West of England. She divided her time between Devon and Newlyn, before moving permanently to Penzance in 2019.
Kirsten is a contemporary semi-abstract landscape painter, working in a variety of mediums. Her landscapes draw from the space and sense of the wild she finds in Cornwall.
Memory and the directly observed meet on her rich surfaces, combining a restful palette with dynamic line and paint work.
Kirsten studied fine art in Exeter, and a year long defining practice course in Newlyn School of Art.
