Welcome to Cornish Galleries
Cornish Galleries is a fully curated online gallery rather than an online marketplace; selection is not an automated process so please be patient while we review your submission.
As the premier online platform for contemporary Cornish artists, we provide a fully managed service for artists and customers alike. We charge nothing for artists to register at this stage and our commission is 30% on non-exclusive sales and 20% on exclusive sales + A card processing fee of 3% for online payments is deducted from sales by our payment gateway.
Artists must be resident or working in Cornwall and work for sale should be produced in or depict Cornwall.
Before you can add work for sale you will need to register (free of charge) with us. You do this all online through the simple registration form below.
Please read through the Review guidelines below before submitting an application.
As all artists are reviewed, in terms of the quality of their profile and photography as well as their work, it is important to make sure that the photographs you provide and the biography you write are of a professional standard.
An artist’s profile consists of a short biography and images of three pieces of representative work.
Please read the guidelines below before submitting and, if accepted, the information provided will be used to create an Artist’s Page for you.
Writing your biography
Always describe yourself in the third person – for example; rather than “I am an abstract artist” say “Jane Smith is an abstract artist”.
Keep it simple – use natural language that is not overly technical.
Here’s a good format to follow:
- Paragraph One: Introduce yourself and your style.
- Paragraph Two: An overview of your experience.
- Paragraph Three: Any notable achievements, qualifications, exhibitions or awards.
Adding representative work
Please provide us with at least three high quality images of your work for our curators to consider. We will also feature this representative work on your profile page so that we may still promote you to customers even if there are no pieces currently available for sale.
Note that the representative pieces you add are not for sale – they are simply examples of your best work that help our curators assess your application and represent your work on your Artists Page is this is successful.
Please follow the Image Guidelines below when submitting photos of your work.
Images that you upload should be: High quality JPG or PNG image files at least 2000 pixels (wide or high) up to 10MB in size. Images should be cropped to the border of the art. Work should be photographed against a neutral background.
